our sweet treats...

The joy of cooking...my little one loves to eat, cook and mix. The minute that pink mixing bowl appears on the kitchen bench...you can hear sounds of joy!!! one of our favorite recipes on a Sunday morning is...
Donna Hay Pancakes

1 1/2 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup caster sugar * i don't use this much
3 eggs
30g unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place the flour and sugar in a bowl and make a well in the centre. Place the eggs, butter, milk and vanilla in the well and stir with a wooden spoon until smooth. Allow the mixture to stand for 10 - 15 minutes. Heat a lightly greased pan over low heat, cook and flip the pancakes.
Sometimes we mix raspberries, blueberries or banana's into the mixture - and we like to eat them with berries, ricotta cheese and honey. We have fun using little cutters to make shapes, numbers and letters with the pancakes - i like the idea of introducing these concepts to my little one in a light hearted and creative way!

Cooking with little ones is such a joy - I can't wait to be able to this with Grace. These sound yummy - might have to give them a go on the weekend myself. Hope you and your little one have a lovely start to the week x

It did come from Wheel and Barrow...a couple of years ago. Not sure if they are still making those ones. Nutella and Banana - we will have to try!
