We are safe and dry.
We are very close...very very close to the devastation. Thank goodness our suburb is up and over a hill and our local creeks did not flood (they did in 74) We have been glued to the television and praying for the rain to stop!
On a drive today I took these pictures - this is what we came across.............very hard to believe but this is a local restaurant hub we love to visit!

Some of our favourite places are totally underwater - Southbank, toddler centre in the Gallery of Modern Art, local restaurants, the river walk and our local parks.
It really is heartbreaking to watch and see!

Your kind and thoughtful words mean so much...a very big thank you!

Sarah I am so glad to hear that you are all safe and well. I didn't realise how close you were to the flooding. My family and I have been very close to the flooding, watching it rise and walking the streets nearby seeing houses go underwater, it has been very scary. Take care and keep safe. I'm praying too the rain stays away. xo

Oh, Sweetie! I'm so relieved to hear you and your precious boys are safe. It's just impossible to comprehend from Hobart - I can't imagine the gamut of emotions you must be feeling. Thinking of you tonight. J x
PS Would you mind emailing me as I have a question. Thanks.

I'm glad to hear you and your family are safe. We lived in Brisbane for eight years before having our children and moving to be closer to our families. It is so surreal to see all of our favourite places under water! Take care xo

It's wonderful to read that you've managed to escape the flooding.

I hope that you are able to keep high and dry for the next couple of days and that your life isn't too badly impacted.

PS I've discovered you via 'A Country Wife' and wondered why it's taken me so long! x

Thank goodness Sarah that your home is safe and sound, but how devastating that your local businesses have been so badly affected. I can't help but feel so helpless over here in WA, particularly as we're having such oppresive weather and I can't help but complain about the lack of rain. Ironic, isn't it.

Here's a little something that will hopefully help to lift your spirits. Thinking of you all in QLD.
