One perfect day......the sea was calm, the sky was blue and a little boy sailed his wooden boat.

I discovered the boat/shelf at at a local bric a brac store...and i had to have it. It was going to be painted white and used as a shelf...until a little inquisitive boy decided to sit in it one Sunday afternoon.

Daddy took out the shelves, painted the inside white, cut out a little fabric sail and gently tied it onto a stick that he also painted white...the little one watched with big blue eyes, smiled and played with his shells and a seed pod.

We found a beautiful spot and he sailed...it was perfect and he loved it!

*the little boat now sits on the porch or in the bedroom...some days it is filled with books other days it gets used as a spot to have a quiet morning snack...it's popular with friends, adults ask where we got it and your lovely comments and emails about the little header have made us smile with happiness. Thank you x

Love this entry! I have always wondered about the boat. Also have been meaning to ask if the photo was taken at Nudgee (think that is the right place)? We often go there when visiting friends in Brisbane and the boys love it!

Oh, I love that photo and I've been wondering about your darling's boat. He looks so peaceful sitting there. Like he's just waiting to take on the world.

It really is such a special little memory in that beautiful growing garden. I just love the photo of him sitting at the dining table, so much excitement!

Oh an dI too recognised the beach as Nudgee? We have friends who live there and we used to only live about 30mins away.

Thanks so much for popping in! Have had a lovely time reading through all your posts....such special photos of such special times. And passionfruit....my little Bijou could eat her body weight in them if we let her. That boat made me (and hubby) smile from ear to ear! Hope you have a gorgeous Sunday :)

Oh thanks for posting this story! Now I will think about it when I see your sweet header.

My Bug has a boat which I found on ebay as his sandpit, and he loves pretending to be a pirate or a sea captain!

HI Sarah, what a lovely blog you have and a beautiful boy - was reading through and came to this - how lucky he is to have such a fabulous boat... I had been admiring your header. Header envy only strikes bloggers I suspect! Ann x
