Part one...

This little beach getaway was my parents...we crashed it for a couple of days and so pleased we did. They found a little beach cottage gem. Filled with nostalgic charm and endless water views...i love details and this little cottage was filled with so many lovely details. Huge seashells holding back the doors to every room, recycled furniture, wooden boats perched on crooked shelves, vintage books,  hooks holding deckchairs, pale blues mosaic tiles filled the bathroom and worn wooden floor boards with gaps holding bucket loads of salty sand.

Delight as we watched a group of dolphins play in the waves...it made his afternoon and he keeps talking about them.

Gorgeous...........i know!

Sea legs and smiles...

We love this nautical antique museum...just over the boarder on the Tweed coast

one could never tire of such interesting discoveries...it's spread over 3 levels and every single nook and cranny is filled to the brim...with treasure!

These nautical images are for the very sweet Maureen...she made me smile with her kindness and she also loves seaside living.

Perfectly old wares...

This weekend we had no real expectations....it was expected to rain, flood, rain, rain, rain....instead we had stunning blues skies, a cool crisp breeze, mornings and afternoons at the beach....perfectly good coffee, moments with an old friend, discovered some amazing old wares and quality time together.
Next time you are on the Gold Coast you have to spend some time at Gov's Espresso {Broadbeach}....you will find a lot more than a good espresso!

Little glass bottles filled with silver glitter...we called it pirate treasure.

It rained all day...playdough was made and little dough scissors added to the playdough box. We enjoyed sleep, baking and painting our latest find white...a wooden sandpit in the shape of a boat.

Oh, and a morning with the girls...Mum and my sister.
Valentino Retrospective - Past/Present/Future at the Gallery of Modern Art
One hundred exquisite haute couture garments
I loved it...the collection was sophisticated, stylish, timeless and very glamorous.

soft, warm and handmade...

Perfect little scarves to keep a little neck warm over the next couple of days. My little one and I are off on an adventure to Sydney to visit some special little friends. Miss E and Miss M will be showing us some lovely little places to play, eat and shop. I am really looking forward to spending time with an old friend and her beautiful family. The scarves have sentimental significance, knitted by my Mum and my Grandmother. And they just look so handsome on one little boy - who enjoys wearing them... (must get them teaching me this craft)!

off to discover the world...

Not me! my sister is about to embark on the trip of a life time with one of her close friends. They are doing some wonderful travel before they touch down in London (oh Hyde park, Piccadilly Circus, Notting Hill markets, scones and clotted cream here they come)!!!I just adore London so I have to say I am feeling a mixture of excitement and anticipation for her...
So this week we have been spending lots of time at home playing and chatting with the little one. Today we decided to brave the wind and rugged up - we had a perfect time exporing the Gallery of Modern Art and popped into the Museum so one little boy could say hello to the dinosaurs. We had such a nice time just wandering around, enjoying coffee, cupcakes and butterfly craft. We will miss her so much, but look forward to hearing about her adventures and receiving little Cath Kidston parcels in the post. x

The joy of play and creating...

Building a Dinosaur

A Saturday morning at the Queensland Museum with Daddy discovering, exploring and having FUN! After a busy morning exploring the Museum my husband was keen to follow up with a creative activity. He came home with some boxes and the two of them went about creating a dinosaur masterpiece, much to the joy of one little boy.

Step 1:
Find some old boxes, cardboard, pipes - what ever you have around the house that can be recycled or visit your local supermarket/electrical store and they should be happy to pass on old boxes to you.

Step 2:
Use paint, crayons, felt pens, egg cartons or even glue and fabric to decorate your boxes.

Step 3:
Construct your dinosaur anyway you wish - don't forget to add appropriate accessories to your dinosaur such as tail, feet, hands, teeth - whatever you wish to complete your mischievous masterpiece.

Most of all have fun!
